For sale: an exceptionally attractive and well-preserved Tandberg Sølvsuper 4 tube radio, manufactured by Tandbergs Radiofabrikk around 1950. This is a genuine piece of Norwegian industrial history and a beautiful vintage collector's item.
The radio is in excellent condition for its age:
• Cabinet: The original woodwork has a beautiful, deep luster and minimal signs of wear. No major water damage or deep scratches.
• Speaker: The original speaker grille cloth is clean, taut, and intact.
• Details: The original back panel is complete and intact, including the original serial number (177741) and the original store price tag (NOK 440).
• Function: The radio lights up when plugged in. The dial illumination works (see photos).
Perfect as a vintage Bluetooth speaker!
Since the AM band is no longer used for standard radio broadcasts in Norway, this radio is ideal for use as an external speaker in the living room or office. It features an original gramophone (Phono) input on the back. By connecting an affordable Bluetooth receiver and an adapter cable (mini-jack to 4mm banana plugs), you can stream music, radio, and podcasts directly from Spotify or your mobile phone. This requires no physical modifications, preserving the radio's historical value while delivering that unique, warm "tube sound." Such equipment can be purchased online for around NOK 300–400.
Sold primarily as a decorative piece/collector's item. As the internal electronic condition—beyond the lights—has not been fully functionally tested by professionals, it is sold as-is.
