A beautiful, black, vintage table lamp,
"N71", for sale!
The lamp was designed by the French manufacturer
Jumo in 1935, with a reference to Eileen Gray. It has a brass-colored,
adjustable arm, the shade and lamp base are lacquered in a beautiful black,
silk-matt color. The brass details stand out beautifully against the black,
this is a truly great lamp! The double arm can be tilted both forwards and
backwards, and the reflector shade can be rotated on its own axis.
The lamp is
in excellent vintage condition, consistent with age and use. The lamp has
received a new switch, new contemporary braided supply cord and a new
grounded plug, all electrical work has been done by a professional. It is
equipped with a new Osram LED fluorescent tube with an old-fashioned
"S19" base, and has been carefully cleaned and overhauled, ready for
its new home!
It has developed a beautiful and natural patina, after 70-80
years of use, and I have chosen to leave the brass in its original condition,
as that type of patina is only original once. The lamp's new owner may consider
polishing it up, if desired.
The lamp is not "like new", it has its
signs of use "here and there" (see pictures) with some slight
differences in shade in the varnish (due to use) but this does not affect the
impression to a great extent, as this is a very old lamp. The stylish
appearance of this lamp makes it fit very well in all types of homes!
Eileen

work is among the most sought-after works on the market, collected by major

the National Museum of Ireland. Yves Saint Laurent was one of her most notable
private collectors.
