MORE PICTURES TO COME !
Soon I will be putting a fantastically beautiful and original desk lamp from German Helo Leuchten up for sale, a lamp designed by Henry Gerhard in the 1950s. This is a true Mid-Century Modern/Bauhaus classic with a huge amount of character and history!
The lamp features the coveted, wide "plate shade" with the characteristic grooves along the edge, as well as an elegantly curved brass arm and the original white push-button switch on the heavy cast iron base.
The lamp has been completely disassembled and carefully cleaned, so as not to spoil the real and natural patina. It was originally lacquered in a deep forest green color, but through decades of use, the lacquer has peeled naturally and organically, allowing the golden brass to shine through. This gives the lamp a completely unique expression and a raw, industrial charm that cannot be recreated artificially.
The original, old wiring harness has been replaced for safety reasons. The lamp has been given a new and contemporary twisted fabric cord and a grounded plug, so it is 100% safe and ready to be plugged straight into today's sockets. The original, charming retro switch on the stand works properly. All electrical work is carried out by a professional.
This is a small and very placeable lamp and the perfect eye-catcher in the home office, in the living room or on the sideboard for those who love Scandinavian and European retro design!
