Carlsberg advertising watch with internal light, this was produced in the early
1970s (the watch is marked with "15-72" at the bottom of the dial, see
picture).
The bell is internally illuminated and was supplied by the brewery to
the hotel industry as an advertising tool and is now highly sought after among collectors
of beer memorabilia. Or maybe you are a Liverpool fan, or you have a "Man-cave",
yes then this is "spot on" for you! The watch is made of hard plastic
and has a plexiglass front with an aluminum edge. Somewhat scratched / worn plexiglass
(see pictures) but as the watch is illuminated behind the dial, this does not affect
the whole and functionality. And then you have to remember that the watch is over
50 years old!
The light inside the watch can be turned on and off (regardless of
the movement) via a switch mounted on one short side of the watch. This is a rare
collector's item and a real eye-catcher for any "man-cave", bar, café
or a watch collection!
The clock has been completely disassembled and carefully
cleaned and the electrical system has been overhauled/replaced. Both the clock function
and the lighting have been function-tested for over a week, and everything works
as it should! The operating voltage is 230V, and the second hand has a "smooth
flow" (the hand does not jump one second at a time).
