This is a beautiful and sought-after UFO lamp designed by Louis Kalff (for Philips) in the 50s. A true design classic with its characteristic, futuristic expression and soft, atmospheric light. Perfect as a table lamp in the living room, bedroom or office.
The lamp has an elegant and timeless design that makes it as relevant today as when it was first launched. A must-have for design enthusiasts or collectors of Scandinavian design.
This is an incredibly beautiful lamp, which has never been restored, it therefore has a few marks of use (see pictures), but the lamp is between 60 and 70 years old, so a little "patina" is part of :)
The switch works perfectly, the cord and plug have been replaced, as the old one was unsafe.
The lampshade has a "ufo" design, typical of the space age and emits a beautiful diffused light. The lamp has been carefully cleaned and cleaned, and is now ready for its new home!
This is a solidly designed and built quality lamp with a cast iron base, a conical, blued "neck" in stainless steel, with a shade made of aluminum. On this, a large light bulb with a "silver top" should be used (not included).
The shade has a few light scratches but despite that, this is a great lamp that decorates the home well.
Kalff used the same UFO theme in his design as the architect for Evolution Eindhoven (see the last two photos). Made in the Netherlands in the 50s, manufactured by Philips, Eindhoven.
