A
rare and beautiful table lamp in true Bauhaus and Art Deco style is now for
sale, designed by Max Schumacher in 1934 for Metallwerk Werner Schröder (MSW) in
Germany.
This
is a timeless collector's item that combines industrial elegance with functionalism,
a classic "mushroom-shaped" model, often referred to as the Schröder 2000.
The lamp is characterized by its wide, flat shade and a solid chrome-plated metal
frame. This edition is lacquered in its deep burgundy red color, which makes a great
eye-catcher in any modern or retro interior!
The
lamp is in very good vintage condition with only some very light signs of use (see
pictures). New electrical wiring throughout the lamp, it has been given a new and
contemporary braided fabric cable (2 meters), a new switch and a new grounded plug,
as well as a wash and polish. This
is one of the most sought-after lamps from the Bauhaus era, and rare to find in
this color combination (burgundy-red/chrome) and a rare opportunity for collectors
or for those who want a timeless design icon from German design history!
