Coming for sale, more pictures to come!
I am selling an incredibly beautiful, French Art Deco glass radiator, designed by René-André COULON for SAINT-GOBAIN. It was produced in 1937, so this is a real Art Deco designed object!
It is composed of two tempered glass plates, the diffusers have a mirror side with stripes that produce heat. The rectangular cast glass base marked (etched in) "SAINT-GOBAIN" and it is illuminated and lights up when the oven is on.
The oven has been completely disassembled and carefully cleaned. All the electrics have been replaced; It has been given a new and contemporary twisted fabric cord, with a grounded plug. It has also been fitted with a new floor switch, which makes it easy to turn the heater (and thus also the light) on and off. All electrical work has been carried out by a professional.
It has a great patina (including on the rods that hold the glass plates together), which shows its authenticity. The glass plates are intact and fine, no cracks or chips on the glass.
This is really a beautiful and historic piece of furniture that you don't see very often. Secure this gem, it is guaranteed to make a "statement" in your home!
