I
am now selling a pair of beautiful, vintage table lamps, which will be sold together.
(If you are looking for only one, see my other ads). The model is called "N71",
from the French manufacturer Jumo. The lamps only have some light marks of use,
no dents and are in very good vintage condition, see pictures. All the pictures are
tried to be taken in the same way by both lamps, hence so many pictures!
Both lamps
have been given contemporary, twisted fabric cords, with new grounded plugs, all
electrical work has been carried out by a professional. They have been checked and
have been given a slight overhaul, without affecting their natural patina. One has
received 2 new Ledvance LED minion bulbs, while the other has received 2 new Osram
LED mimion bulbs, both with old-fashioned "G22" sockets. The bulbs correspond
to 2 x 40w, so they provide a really good, comfortable and warm light.
This pair will e.g. do very well on either side of a double bed, on each their own bedside
table, or perhaps on each side of a wide, vintage chest of drawers or sideboard?
Secure this great pair of lamps, it is not often you find two such lamps together,
with an almost identical patina!
The name "Jumo" is derived from the names
of the founders, Jujeau and Mounique, and it is likely that André Mounique was the
designer of the N71 model, not Eileen Gray, as many claim. Despite the usual
misattribution, the Jumo N71 remains an iconic example of Art Deco and modernist
French industrial design from the mid-1900s.
