Soon a pair of beautiful, vintage table lamps
will arrive, which will be sold together (first and foremost). The model is called
"N71", from the French manufacturer Jumo.
The lamps will be checked and get a light overhaul,
and they will get 2 new Ledvance LED minion bulbs, with old-fashioned "G22"
socket, which corresponds to 2 x 40w, so it will give a really good, comfortable
and warm light.
These lamps have only some light signs of
use and are in very good vintage condition. They will e.g. look very good on either
side of a double bed, on their own bedside table, or perhaps on each side of a wide,
vintage chest of drawers or benches?Secure yourself this great pair of lamps, not
often you find these together, with an almost identical patina!
More pictures to come!
The name "Jumo" is derived from
the names of its founders, Jujeau and Mounique and it is
likely that André Mounique was the designer of the N71 model, not Eileen Gray,
as many claims.
Despite the common misattribution, the Jumo
N71 remains an iconic example of Art Deco and modernist French industrial
design from the mid-20th century.
